Columbus, OH – In a move celebrated by fans and the Ohio State community, the women’s basketball program has announced the return of legendary point guard Samantha Prahalis. One of the most electrifying players to ever don the Scarlet and Gray, Prahalis will be joining the program as the Director of Player Development. The official announcement came this morning, signaling an exciting new chapter for both Prahalis and the Buckeyes.
Prahalis, known for her incredible passing ability and court vision, left an indelible mark on the Ohio State program from 2007 to 2011. A dynamic playmaker, she consistently thrilled fans with her flashy assists and clutch performances, earning All-American honors and etching her name in the program’s record books. Following her stellar collegiate career, Prahalis was a high draft pick in the WNBA and enjoyed a successful professional career.
In her new role as Director of Player Development, Prahalis will be instrumental in the growth and mentorship of the current Buckeyes squad. The Director of Player Development typically focuses on the holistic development of student-athletes, encompassing their skills on the court as well as their personal and academic growth off the court.
Responsibilities often include assisting with individual player workouts, film study, academic monitoring, and providing guidance on leadership and life skills. Prahalis’s firsthand experience as an elite player at both the college and professional levels will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to the team.
